Mizrachi in LeedsMarch 29, 2017
Edwin & Suzy Chomer have recently joined the Mizrachi team and will be working with the Jewish community in Leeds.
Edwin has spent a lot of time in various different youth movements whilst growing up, in both a leader/participant role. After graduating from JFS in London he travelled to Jerusalem where he studied at Yeshivat. Ohr Somayach for a number of years. Following his return to the UK he sought employment in the Property industry whilst still maintaining links with a variety of Youth Organsations and acting as a Madrich in his spare time. He has a passion for youth work and informal education and is looking forward to returning to the field in this role.
Having previously worked at the Board of Deputies and The United Synagogue; Suzy is no stranger to working with large Jewish Organisations. She graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2011 with a BA Hons in History and Social Science. Following this she spent a year studying at Midreshet Rachel v’Chaya Seminary in Jerusalem. A highly organised and dedicated individual she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role.
Suzy and Edwin have been married for three years originally living in London. However, they have now moved north to be closer to family. They have a wonderful daughter Chaya Miriam who will shortly be turning two. They are an enthusiastic couple with a lot of ideas and we hope will make a positive impact on the community.
“We are aiming in the coming term to create a host of interesting, engaging and exciting programmes for the youth of the Leeds Jewish Community. There will be a mix of educational and social programmes running for Year 5 and up. Stay tuned as more information will be released shortly.
We are looking forward to working with all 3 Synagogues and Mizrachi UK in this exciting new partnership to shape the next Generation of the Leeds Community”.
